And everything that's been wrapped is now unwrapped. Unless of course you have extended family still to celebrate with, and if that's the case keep drinking that egg nog. Anyways, 2016 is about ready to take its final bow, and while most of us are eagerly waiting for this year to end there were some upsides to it. Maybe you got a new job, a new pet, had a baby, met someone new. It's easy to focus on the disasterous headlines that plague every news source we lay our eyes on but remember there are good things out there too.
So with another year come and gone comes another year where I didn't meet my reading goal. 24 books. That's it! 24 books. Two books a month. You would think that 24 books in a year would be an easy thing and I'm sure for a lot of people it is but for me grrrrr. I haven't been able to meet it once! I hit 13 this year (fourteen if I manage to finish The Girl With all the Gifts in the next five days? I won't bore you with a review of everything I read because you probably don't have the time and I wouldn't blame you for not wanting to read through them. But if you want some ideas for books to read check out the list below. Title and quick number of stars when on a scale out of 5.
Also, before I throw the list up, I ended up getting something for Christmas. A book that has a notorious cult following on the internet. A book that I have had recommended to me over and over and over again. A book that a) makes me feel like I'm Johnny Depp in the movie The Ninth Gate and b) when I sent a picture of it to a buddy of mine who also has gone back and forth over the years responded with, "good luck with your descent into madness."
Until next year everyone. Cheers.
