So, question of the day: if you can't judge a book by its cover can you judge a movie by its title? To be fair I judge books by their covers all the time. . . come on we all do. You're walking through Barnes & Noble and you see that new hardcover propped up on the stand and the first thought is hmm, looks interesting. Now imagine the same thing except with a title on Netflix.
Yup, happened to me. The Houses October Built. Come on, pretty badass title. The movie itself eh still up in the air. Which is why I'm writing about it here rather than doing a review for it. My normal twenty-four hour time period has passed and I still don't know how I feel about it. The movie was pretty solid but the ending . . . . I got nothing. Really. I don't know. I've made it pretty well known that I am a fan of ambiguous endings but this one didn't really sit well with me. I won't give away any spoilers so don't worry about what the ending actually is but I just . . . Again, I got nothing. But anyways, back to the title. Such a badass title.
Albums, movies, books, video games. . . There's quite a bit in a title. Dead Space. Silent Hill. The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest.
If anyone feels like spilling, I'd be interested to hear what your favorite titles are.
Till next time.
